Tongji-LEO2021 Introduction

Our team developed a new time series of monthly gravity field models named Tongji-LEO2021 (up to degree and order 40) from orbit observations of Early Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites (including SPOT2, SPOT3, SPOT4, TOPEX/Poseidon, ERS-1 and ERS-2) based on an optimized short-arc method (Chen et al., 2019) over the period from January 1993 to December 2004. The results show that the hydrology signals derived from Tongji-LEO2021 solutions have good agreement with those from GLDAS models, indicating that Tongji-LEO2021 monthly temporal gravity field models are useful for quantitatively estimating global mass changes before the GRACE era.
