Qiujie Chen
Professor
Geodesy

Introduction:

I am Dr. Chen Qiujie, a Professor and Ph.D. Supervisor at Tongji University. Recognized as a high-level overseas young talent by the Chinese government and a Humboldt Scholar in Germany, I have dedicated my career to the research of satellite gravity inversion theory, methods, and applications. With a strong publication record, I have contributed nearly 40 papers showcasing my achievements in this field.

One of my notable accomplishments is the establishment of the highly regarded Tongji gravity field models, surpassing international counterparts. These models have been incorporated into the prestigious International Centre for Global Earth Models (ICGEM) and have garnered over 4,200 global downloads in the past three years alone, reflecting their widespread relevance and impact.

Throughout my career, I have successfully led several significant research projects funded by esteemed organizations like the National Overseas High-Level Talents Introduction Program for Young Researchers, the National Natural Science Foundation Major Program, the National Natural Science Foundation General Program, the National Key Research and Development Program sub-project, and national gravity satellite-related initiatives. Additionally, I have actively engaged in Sino-German international cooperation projects and key projects supported by the National Natural Science Foundation.

To further contribute to the geodetic and geophysical community, I serve as a valued member of the Chinese Geodesy and Geophysics Society. Furthermore, I hold core memberships in influential working groups such as NGGM (Next Generation Gravity Missions) in Europe, COST-G (Combination Service of Time-variable Gravity Field Solutions), and ISSI (International Space Science Institute), all within the realm of space and geosciences.

As an accomplished researcher and educator, I remain committed to advancing knowledge in satellite gravity inversion and fostering collaboration between academia and industry. It is my privilege to contribute to the development of this field and support the growth of aspiring scientists and professionals in geodesy and geophysics.

Education and Work Experience:

Chen Qiujie received his PhD degree in Geodesy and Surveying Engineering from Tongji University in 2016. He worked as a research assistant at Hong Kong Polytechnic University from 2016 to 2017, a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Luxembourg from 2017 to 2018, and a Humboldt Scholar at the University of Bonn in Germany from 2018 to 2020. In January 2021, he returned to China under the National Overseas High-Level Talents Introduction Program for Young Researchers.
